From BMXNZ: Late last year BMX New Zealand advised that track builder Tom Ritzenthaler would be visiting New Zealand in early February 2007 to build the North Harbour BMX track, for our National Championships. He will be leaving Auckland on the evening of 7 February. So, we can all expect that the construction of the North Harbour track will proceed from about 1 February until complete, or until 7 February. Of course the programme of work will be subject to the usual vagaries- weather being one of them. A room has been booked at Sport North Harbour (North Harbour Stadium, Albany) on 5 February, for Tom to present an indoor session on BMX track construction. So those who want to attend the track build may confidently make travel arrangements around these confirmed dates. As advised, Tom will be needing assistance for the job, so this will be a rare opportunity for New Zealand track builders to work with one of the best in this area. The North Harbour club is already working to secure equipment and soil to make the project a success. We need to have an idea how many people will be attending and when. Could details of people attending please be e-mailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it We have only had a few responses so far, but we know there is more interest. |
