 Bikewise

The Waitakere BMX Club will be taking part in Bikewise - a national initiative to promote cycling.

What's Happening

The track will be open between 4 and 5pm  on March 2nd for riding and informal racing. The track is at 103 Glen Road, Ranui [map]

What to Bring

  • Your bike
  • Your normal "street" helmet
  • Clothes that cover your arms and legs and tuck in securely
  • Sneakers and long socks

Before children will have access to the track they will need to register and have their bikes and helmets checked.

Helmets must be worn correctly to be safe. Under normal circumstances full face helmets are required. As this is an informal event normal helmets are permitted.

Spot Prizes will be given out to registered Bikewise Riders

Stay for Racing

If you've enjoyed your afternoon riding with us stay and take part in the club racing which starts at 6.30pm or come back another Thursday evening.

On March 9th we have the College Champs so come back to cheer on your school!

Track Condition Report - 13th July 2010

Track conditions as at 6:00 p.m. 13th July 2010;

Condition: Reasonable, watch the last corner entry.

Better weather of late has seen much of the track dry up a lot. Some resurfacing has been done on some of the up-faces of the jumps and the only area you have to watch for now is the entry to the last turn (stay high on the outside). The rest of the track is pretty fast.

(Please note: Track condition reports will be conducted on a "whenever we can do them" basis. Each report is accurate only at the time it's given.......it's Auckland after all!)
