Just a quick update to keep you all informed of recent happenings.....
- Our training nights have been continuing to run since early this month. Thanks to Brendan Ford for continuing his efforts. The track has been in a super fast condition of late, pump laps have never been so easy! Tuesday (26 Jan 2010) night's riders were taken through their usual warm up, followed by some gate-balancing, gate-starts and pump lap practice. An excellent all round training session. If you haven't yet attended training night, do so to get yourself in shape for the upcoming Nationals.
- Some other track changes have taken place recently. Brendan and the lads have removed the lip on the table-top into the last corner, so you can now hit it a little faster without the fear of over-jumping and missing the landing. Track design is not only about making tracks technically difficult for riders, it's also about making them safe for riders who may not have high levels of technical skill. Brendan continually reviews the track design to ensure the track has just the right combination of tricky, but still rideable, obstacles throughout. Thanks for all yourt efforts Brendan.
- One of our members, Paul Morrow, recently competed in his first Super Cruiser event since returning to the sport. Paul did a fantastic job. Paul made the final (not an easy task in Super Cruiser) and finished fifth overall. An awesome effort Paul!
- The Auckland Championships takes place this coming weekend at Papakura. Several Waitakere riders will be competing. We'll do our best to keep you posted on how they do. If you're one of those competing in the Champs, good luck!
- Have you renewed your licence/club membership yet this year? Get onto it if you haven't. See our downloads page for the necessary forms you'll need.
OK, that's it for now folks. Remember, Club Night tonight! See you there..... |
